In the U.S. approximately 30 million people suffer from an eating disorder.
The consequences are dire: eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any mental illness, and treatment can cost more than $2,000 per day. Since KMB was established in 2013, we have committed ourselves to raise awareness and provide support to our community and individuals all over the nation.
Current Initiatives:
Each year we elect our new initiative. We determine a need in our community and focus our fundraising efforts and advocacy around the initiative. We will continue to offer Professional Development Scholarships with the expectation of supporting (3) individuals attending the ICED conference in NYC! We will continue to develop and promote The Pillow Project with the hope to donate over 150 pillows to individuals in treatment! We remain committed to the NEDA Body Project initiative and will provide Facilitator Training in our region! We are looking to branch out and create new touch-points in the community by connecting with local universities and colleges.
